Dear Friends of Kevin Kelley and Rachel Bagby We’re inviting you to embark on an evolutionary adventure in service of life on earth that marries Kevin’s and Rachel’s talents. Kevin brings his work as a NYT best-selling author of The Home Planet, as an artist and the creator of large-scale, transformational projects. Rachel has spent 20+ years inspiring people around the world to create sound communities and sustainability through her award-winning work as a composer/vocalist, author, educator and poetic alchemist/activist. Spirals of Light—our first, awe-inspiring, multi-sensory project of the World Perspectives Institute— addresses the urgent need for a new worldview. We need a way to see humanity as part of a larger existence so we can bring about the behavioral changes necessary for our survival, evolution and the care of our home planet. The Institute’s mission is nothing less than to inspire humanity to run our affairs according to ecological principles while embracing respect and reverence for all life. Our goal is to articulate a new visual vernacular that will impact the world by means of a digitally animated and scientifically accurate framework of Time. By providing people with a compelling experience of our journey through time, space and evolution, we aim to create a paradigm shift in human knowledge and understanding. Through this depth of perspective and perception we seek to activate a change of direction by humanity from our present destructive paths onto more viable ones. Visionaries such as Chris Jordan have proclaimed that Spirals of Light is the 21st century version of the groundbreaking “Powers of 10” film, while Dr. Brian Swimme and others have said that the project is destined to raise the consciousness of the planet. We have come a long way since we began development in 2006, thanks to the continuing support and generous funding of many inspired people. This website provides a deeper view of our work, including: • An overview describing the current project status • Our accomplishments to date • Testimonials and observations about the prototype animation • Brief backgrounds of project staff, consultants Upcoming Events We are particularly pleased to report that we have accepted invitations to two key upcoming events that will raise the profile of the World Perspectives Institute and Spirals of Light: A keynote presentation at the prestigious 8th Swiss Biennial on Science, Technics + Aesthetics, in Lucerne, Switzerland, January 16-17, 2010 with Fritjof Capra and other notables. An opening context-setting presentation for the first Beyond Sustainability Gathering in June 2010 in Hawaii with over 250 world change agents. These high-profile engagements have provided an impetus to accelerate development of our animation presentations and related production plans. We anticipate these presentations will lead to future fullbudget funding through sponsorships and grants for both the Institute and Spirals of Light. Bridge funds in the $1,000-5,000 range will be especially helpful now as we prepare for our Switzerland tour. Our present focus is on: • Preparing for the January keynote in Switzerland. • Funding completion of the prototype that we will unveil during the keynote. • Developing a professional presentation to potential corporate sponsors (to whom we already have • Completing a concept proposal and presentations with Eli Kuslansky of Unifiedfield.com for a significant • Engaging Alligator Planet—a premier production and consulting company owned by one of the founders of Pixar and the producer of Toy Story—to proceed with a full-fledged production plan for the entire project, including dome movies. The major in-kind contributions of project staff and consultants, along with enabled us to reach this exciting point. To maintain momentum and take full advantage of the Switzerland keynote opportunity, we are in the process of raising $100,000 by December 31st. Additionally, to guarantee a fully developed prototype for the next phase, we are seeking to raise $300,000 by June 2010.
